Students Cleaning and Removing Unwanted Blemishes

I am a Social Justice Advocate committed to reducing crime and delinquency by beautifying the environment of my community. I believe that by enhancing the physical surroundings of our neighborhoods, we can create a safer and more cohesive community where residents feel proud to live and work. As such, I organize events and initiatives that bring people together to improve the local environment in various ways. This includes planting community gardens, cleaning up litter, and painting public spaces to create vibrant and welcoming areas for all. Through these efforts, I aim to foster a sense of civic responsibility and empower individuals to take ownership of their communities. Ultimately, my goal is to create a safer, more inclusive, and more beautiful environment for all who call this place home.

Cleaning & Beautifying Our Community

The Broken Window Theory is a criminological theory that suggests that visible signs of disorder and neglect, such as broken windows or graffiti, can lead to an increase in criminal behavior and more serious crimes. The theory was first introduced by social scientists James Q. Wilson and George Kelling in 1982, who argued that the presence of visible signs of disorder sends a signal to potential offenders that a community is not being cared for, and that criminal behavior is more likely to go unchecked and unpunished.

According to the theory, if small signs of disorder and neglect are left unchecked, they can quickly escalate into more serious crimes. By addressing these minor issues, such as fixing broken windows or cleaning up graffiti, law enforcement and community members can send a message that criminal behavior will not be tolerated and that the community is actively working to maintain order.

With this in mind, we hope to improve the conditions of not only school’s but also our nearby alleys. This will involve cleaning, decorating, beautifying, and reorganizing the places. We will make a map of which places we have cleaned and try to clean more areas.

Campaigns

The campaign to promote a clean community through the club will involve a multi-pronged approach to raise awareness and encourage behavior change. The focus of the campaign will be on the problem of littering in Korea, with a particular emphasis on cigarette butts, which are a major contributor to environmental pollution.

The campaign will begin with the creation of posters that are designed to have a strong visual impact and evoke an emotional response. These posters will not be typical no-smoking signs, but rather will be designed to make people feel uncomfortable about throwing away their cigarette butts or other trash. They may feature images of polluted waterways, wildlife harmed by litter, or other visual cues that highlight the negative impact of littering on the environment and our community.

In addition to the posters, the campaign will also leverage online channels to reach a wider audience and raise awareness. This may include social media campaigns, email newsletters, or other digital marketing tactics that encourage people to join the cause and take action to promote a cleaner, healthier community.

The campaign will also involve community events and activities, such as clean-up days or educational seminars, to engage with people directly and encourage them to take ownership of the issue of littering in their community. By involving community members in the campaign and promoting a sense of shared responsibility for the environment, we hope to create a culture of cleanliness and reduce littering in Korea, one cigarette butt at a time.
